Pipe conveyed logging

Logging tools are difficult to place within steeply inclined or horizontal wells.  In these circumstances tools can be conveyed attached to drill pipe.  The tools log whilst the pipe is usually moved in 90-foot stands.  With imaging and dipmeter tools, problems can arise as the pipe accelerates and decelerates in its series of relatively short steps, with degraded images sometimes observed at the start and finish of each stand.
